Sophia Maria Fries
Interlacing of World Fragments

At the beginning there are questions. About the limitations of imageability, about the body behind the camera, about the correspondence between reality and its definability. About the inner life of pandemic vacuums and about the human relationship to the world.
The installation consists of two simultaneously running videos. These are connected with a voice from off-screen and are in close dialogue with each other.
Starting point of the fictional narrative is grounded in experienced conversations. Thus the work does not only try to represent the individual feelings of the author, but creates a multi-layered narrative. Thereby the viewers shape the content through their own associations. The video work becomes the sum of collective thoughts, while the perception of the contexts remains an individual experience.
The exploration of contemporary emotions proves to be a myriad of new questions. Nothing can be delimited from one another anymore; one becomes entangled in an infinitely growing web of multiple truths. How do you unknot the universe?
